Culture Clash and Dogs are from Neptune, both by Jean Donaldson. How to Teach a New Dog Old Tricks by Ian Dunbar. The Other End of the Leash by Patricia McConnell. These are some great ones to start with. They are easy reads and the ideas and methods are the best out there in my opinion. People will suggest Caesar Milan, but in my opinion he is a crackpot.

Hi ,
Here is a really professional training called sit stay fetch , to teach you how to train your dog by yourself , http://dogobediencetraining.co.nr , its a easy step by step book
Hope this helps you with your dog
I like Jan Fennell’s, The Dog Listener. I think now it comes as one book with the practical guide she also wrote, but make sure you get the practical guide or you’ll feel lost. She deals with a lot of problem dogs and uses a whole life approach. I would also suggest The Dog Whisperer on DVD (this is the ORIGINAL dog whisper, Paul Owens, NOT Cesar Milan). His production is not as slick as National Geographic, but it’s all positive reinforcement and he won’t tell you to do dangerous, stupid things, like “alpha rolls.”

PetSmart usually has a good selection of dog training books and they have classes, if you so choose.
